Buckingham Foundation is partnering with Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis to build the wall panels for a home to be built for Ashley Turner. The “panel build” will occur Wednesday, July 25th from 8am‐12pm in the parking lot across from Buckingham Properties, located at 941 N. Meridian, Indianapolis, IN.
Panel builds are unique sponsorship opportunities for companies and organizations to partner with Habitat for Humanity, allowing their employees to participate in the construction of the wall panels just outside their office doors. In this case, employees from Buckingham Companies will construct and erect the interior and exterior wall panels for the home, which will then be shipped to the eventual address on the near eastside for completion. Buckingham’s financial contribution is used to support the Habitat Homeownership Program.
“This is a great opportunity for Buckingham employees to participate in the build process during a morning without actually going to the build site. For many employees, it is often difficult to take a full day to volunteer, so this provides a unique way for them to contribute. It also is a great way for a company to support the homeownership program through their financial resources,” says Jim Morris, President & CEO of Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis. “It has been abundantly clear in our first year working with the Buckingham Foundation and Buckingham Companies that their teams are dedicated to contributing to the health and well‐being of Indianapolis through their giving and volunteer efforts."
Buckingham Companies began with the acquisition of one modest rental property in 1984. Over two decades later, Buckingham manages nearly $1 billion in real estate assets. Brad Chambers, its founder and president & CEO of Buckingham Companies, and his family founded Buckingham Foundation to address the issues of homelessness and affordable housing.
Habitat for Humanity of Greater Indianapolis is an ecumenical Christian ministry that envisions Greater Indianapolis as a place where every resident has access to quality and affordable homeownership opportunities. We seek to build self‐sufficiency for residents in need through the life‐changing opportunity of homeownership.
